Agartala: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha promised permanent flood solutions after touring hard-hit regions today. He inspected disaster sites at Bardowali and Ashram Chowmuhani. He also checked on displaced citizens at the Vivekananda School relief camp.

Heavy rains in Barmura Hills pushed the Haora River above danger levels. The water is finally receding. Saha noted, "I heard that in Khowai and West District, all of a sudden water entered." He cited similar August 2024 flooding as a baseline for the current emergency.

State authorities established 17 relief camps to house 1,305 people across 413 families. Officials are providing food and supplies for infants. Disaster response teams and boats are active in the field while NDRF crews remain on standby. The West District sustained significant damage.

Saha coordinated the response with Secretary Milind Ramteke and West District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar. He acknowledged the limits of human intervention against storms, stating that you cannot compete with nature. Local councillors and party workers continue monitoring the situation round the clock.
