Agartala: Two days of relentless rain hammered Kalyanpur, leaving homes trashed and farmland underwater. Nine families totaling 39 people took the brunt of the storm. Water pushed into living rooms while falling trees crushed roofs across East Kunjaban, West Dwarikapur, and Madhya Kalyanpur Gram Panchayat.

Block officials hit the ground to inspect the damage. They promised help is coming. The Kalyanpur Scouts and Guides Disaster Response Unit, working for the Teliamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate, arrived to survey the scene. They checked in with stranded families to offer immediate aid and prepare for more rain. One official noted, "The administration remains on high alert."

Agriculture took a massive hit. Stagnant water drowned Baganbazar’s Aman paddy and vegetable patches. Farmers fear their hard work will rot in the muck. Experts from the Crop Insurance Department and Agriculture Office trekked to the fields to gather loss data. They told desperate growers, "Necessary support would be extended to mitigate the impact of the disaster." Officials continue to track river and canal levels as they prepare for a long recovery.
