Itanagar: Amit Amaurya and Limasunep Imchen will fight for the ATURTO Flyweight Grand Prix title this December. They reached the final after their scheduled semi-final opponents missed weight. Amaurya was set to fight Fahad Khan, and Imchen was matched against Lian Nun. Neither opponent hit the mark, clearing the path for the finalists.
ATURTO CEO Higio Taarak is now tightening weight-management rules. The promotion wants better fighter accountability. Missing weight ruins months of preparation for the disciplined athlete. Taarak addressed the failures during a press briefing. "When one fighter makes the weight and the opponent doesn't, it takes a toll on the fighter who has done everything right," he stated. He added, "For a promotion, it is also a disadvantage because fans wait for these fights for months."
This fallout followed ATURTO 4.2 at the Artisan Cum Exhibition Centre in Chimpu, Arunachal Pradesh, on Saturday, August 22. The sold-out event hosted five semi-professional bouts and three professional contests. In the semi-professional bracket, Miding Pada tapped Bubul Taid with a first-round RNC, while Lamgu Nillo stopped Narang Napa via TKO in the third. Reri Dedu took a unanimous decision over Sajal Chaudhary. Biri Nikum won a split decision against Thoidingjam Goroba, and Kenjo Lollen secured an RNC finish over Vikas Gupta.
The professional card opened with Darren Kharshandy winning by TKO in the first round against Rahul Thakuri. Yumter Taipodia and Lalngaihawma both secured unanimous decision victories over their respective opponents, Chinglemba Ningomba and Diyo Rimo. Amaurya and Imchen now wait until December 2026 to settle their score.
