Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh police dismantled two distinct vehicle theft rings operating across state lines. Officers recovered 25 stolen vehicles and arrested eight individuals, including four minors. One operation targeted a luxury car syndicate while the other focused on a network moving stolen scooters into Assam.

In Kra Daadi district, a Special Investigation Team led by DySP Mape Zirdo tracked down a high-end vehicle racket. Superintendent of Police Sepraj Perme confirmed the recovery of 15 luxury cars stolen from the Delhi-NCR area. Police arrested four men from Assam: Zahangir Alam, Mojhibur Rahman, Mohammad Sablu, and Md Gargantuan Ali. Officers identified Alam as the kingpin. He was caught in Barpeta. Investigators stated the gang transported the vehicles to Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland for resale to unsuspecting buyers. A chargesheet is now filed.

Separately, Itanagar police uncovered an inter-state two-wheeler theft ring after a scooter vanished from Zoo Road. A case was registered at Chimpu Police Station. Officers caught a minor riding a stolen scooter during a routine check. Inspector N Nishant led the team that recovered five scooters in Gohpur, Assam, based on the minor's confession. Another team led by SI Taba Tate seized four TVS NTORQ scooters in Ganga village. Four juveniles are currently in custody. Police noted, "Preliminary investigation indicates that the juveniles allegedly stole two-wheelers from the ICR and transported them to Assam for disposal." Ownership verification continues for all recovered units.
