Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Rajya Sabha member Tai Tagak landed a spot on the official Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Officials confirmed the appointment on August 18. Tagak, a veteran BJP leader, reached the upper house unopposed earlier this year.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein backed the move. He cheered the appointment on social media platform X. Mein noted that the posting highlights Tagak’s long history of public service. "This nomination recognises Tagak’s experience and commitment to public service and provides him an opportunity to contribute to important national discussions in the energy sector," Mein wrote. The Deputy Chief Minister expects big results. He wished Tagak success in his new post, betting on his ability to influence national energy policy.
