Assam Man Killed by Brother-in-Law Following Domestic Dispute

Guwahati: Hafizur Rahman killed his brother-in-law in the Shiyalmari Char area of Assam. The victim was 35-year-old Johor Uddin. Police arrested Rahman for the murder. He now sits in custody.

The trouble started over a second marriage. Rahman originally married Sajiron Nessa, who is the sister of the victim. His decision to take a second wife sparked constant arguments within the family. Tensions reached a boiling point this week.

Uddin visited his sister’s house to settle the ongoing feud. Rahman met him with violence. He attacked Uddin with a sharp weapon, causing fatal injuries. Bystanders rushed the victim to the Mukalmua Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital. Doctors there declared him dead upon arrival.

Mukalmua Police confirmed they have the prime suspect in handcuffs. Officers are still working to pin down the details of the attack. They say the investigation remains active as they "ascertain the exact circumstances and motive behind the killing."
