Assam brothers murder sibling in land dispute

Guwahati: Two men killed their older brother over a fight for ancestral land. The murder happened at 10 am on August 16 in West Nayagram, a border village under the Nilambazar Police Station in Sribhumi district. The brothers, Taj Uddin and Nizam Hussain, allegedly attacked their sibling, Tajel Hussain, with sharp weapons. Their mother witnessed the entire killing.

Tajel Hussain died on the spot from multiple wounds. The attackers fled before officers arrived. A team led by Officer-in-Charge Anandamedhi reached the village to start the investigation. DSP Headquarters Manas Pratim Choudhury inspected the site to assess the situation. Police officials confirmed the recovery of the body, which was sent to a local hospital for a post-mortem examination. A magistrate attended the preliminary scene review.

Officers are now searching for the two suspects. The local authorities stated, "Further investigation into the incident is underway." The police hunt for the pair continues as the case moves forward.
