Armed Thief Robs Moran Household at Swordpoint

Guwahati: A thief hit a home in Purani Balai village near Moran early Tuesday morning. The intruder broke in through a window at 2:30 am, targeting the residence of Ruby Hazarika. He crept into a daughter-in-law's bedroom and raided a Godrej almirah. He grabbed gold rings, a chain, and earrings worth more than Rs 3 lakh. The thief struck with precision.

The criminal moved to a second room, but a family member woke up to the noise. When she confronted him, he brandished a sharp sword. He told her, "remain silent." The threat worked. He vanished into the darkness before neighbors arrived to help the shaken family.

Villagers note that cattle theft happens here often, but this armed confrontation has sparked genuine fear. The victims filed an FIR at the Lepetkata Police Outpost. Officers are now scouring the area to track down the suspect.
