Doctor Detained After Confronting Assam Official in Roadside Incident

Guwahati: Police detained a doctor in Moran, Assam, following a roadside confrontation with Dingshengpha Barua, the sub-divisional commissioner of Mahmara. The dispute started after the doctor’s vehicle collided with the commissioner’s official car in the middle of a public road.

Witnesses report the physician, who works at the Moran State Hospital, verbally abused and harassed Barua after the wreck. The behavior drew a swift response from local authorities. Officers from the Moran and Moranhat police stations arrived on the scene and took the man into custody for questioning.

The incident has sparked outrage across the community. "The alleged mistreatment of a senior woman administrative officer in a public place has triggered strong reactions among local residents," officials noted. Investigators are currently weighing further action as the case remains under review.
