Kohima: Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet Minister Gabriel Denwang Wangsu traveled to the Konyak Union Office in Mon this Sunday. He arrived to deliver relief aid and stand with families hit by the recent natural disaster. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between Konyak populations living across state lines.
Konyak Union President K. Yamao Konyak greeted the minister at the office. He praised the visit as a sign of regional unity. "The visit reflected the strong bond of brotherhood among the Konyak people across state boundaries and demonstrated compassion and unity during a difficult time," Konyak said. Wangsu offered his condolences to those who lost loved ones and promised continued backing from the Arunachal Pradesh Konyak community.
Mon Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak thanked the minister for the donation. The Union also received support from the All Assam Naga Welfare Society. Kunki Chowdhury, a former Guwahati Central election candidate and Shrimanta Shanker Society member, also visited the office to drop off relief supplies and offer sympathy.
A delegation from the Konyak Union traveled to Charaideo district in Assam to hand out aid to families struggling with flooding. While there, the group met with the Joint Action Committee of Mon and Charaideo. During this sit-down, the Union shut down rumors spreading on social media about a so-called Dikhu Dam. They confirmed no such structure exists. The Konyak Union thanked every person and group that sent help during the current crisis.
