Itanagar: The Keyi Panyor unit of the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) handed over a cheque for Rs 8 lakh to district officials on Tuesday. This money is earmarked for families struggling after recent flash floods hit Possa, the NEEPCO Colony, and nearby areas.
A delegation of six members presented the funds at the District Secretariat Building in Yachuli. CoSAAP President Toko Lento and General Secretary Chukhu Epa led the group to meet Deputy Commissioner Ankita Mishra. The cash came from donations made by government workers and other supporters.
The association thanked its Central Executive Committee, headed by Likha Tech, for the support. They also credited district units in Namsai, Papum Pare, Lohit, Leparada, and East Siang for helping get the money together. Employees from every department in Keyi Panyor chipped in to help their neighbors.
"The assistance would be utilized transparently for the welfare and rehabilitation of genuine flood-affected families," Deputy Commissioner Mishra said while accepting the donation. The association reaffirmed its commitment to the public, promising to stand by the community throughout the recovery process.
