Itanagar: Keyi Panyor district is prepping for a massive influx of visitors and VIPs. The 2026 Ziro Festival of Music runs from September 24 to 27 in Ziro Valley. Travelers will flood through the Potin, Yazali, Yachuli, and Joram market hubs to reach the site. It will be busy.
Deputy Commissioner Ankita Mishra led a strategy session on Thursday with Superintendent of Police Dr. Akanksha Milind Tamgadge. They gathered local heads of departments, PRI members, and market welfare committees to firm up plans. The team wants a clean and safe transit path.
The administration will hold awareness drives on September 18 and 19. These sessions target hotels, restaurants, and shops to enforce better food hygiene and waste disposal. Workers will hit the streets on September 21 for a mass cleanup between Potin and the Joram Anya Gate. This effort aligns with the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
Crews are currently repairing vulnerable road stretches to prevent gridlock. New welcome boards and color-coded dustbins are coming soon to key transit spots. Police will ramp up security and traffic enforcement at Potin to handle the surge. Officials have committed to "making coordinated efforts to provide visitors with a clean, safe and welcoming transit experience" during the event. Authorities are also pushing registered homestays and lodges to accommodate the crowd.
