Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh celebrated Chief Minister Pema Khandu hitting a ten-year tenure on July 17. The state government issued commemorative postage stamps to mark the occasion. These stamps feature the unique identity, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Himalayan state. Khandu originally took the oath of office on July 17, 2016.
Khandu publicly thanked the residents of Arunachal Pradesh for their ongoing support. He credited the state's progress to the backing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He pointed to the recent federal response to monsoon disasters as evidence of this cooperation. Two Union ministers and central assessment teams arrived to evaluate damage, and the Centre provided aid for recovery efforts. Khandu plans to head to New Delhi soon to secure more help.
The Chief Minister also shut down recent local reports claiming he planned to step down. He dismissed the claims as false. "I would say all these are fake news and we must not encourage this kind of news also, as the government is running good under the BJP regime and we are united together."
State Minister for Women and Child Development, Science and Technology, and Art and Culture Dasanglu Pul praised the decade of work. She credited the administration for faster development across all sectors. Pul urged citizens to keep backing the government as it builds out infrastructure and social welfare programs.
