Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu hit the ten-year mark in office on July 17. The state commemorated the milestone by issuing postage stamps featuring local heritage and identity. Khandu took the reins on July 17, 2016. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for supporting the Himalayan border state.

Khandu dismissed recent rumors about his resignation as fake news. He stated, "I would say all these are fake news and we must not encourage this kind of news also, as the government is running good under the BJP regime and we are united together." He also addressed recent monsoon damage, noting that central teams have already assessed the disaster zones to coordinate relief.

The administration touted a surge in economic growth. The state’s Gross State Domestic Product jumped two-and-a-half times during his tenure, while revenue collection climbed fivefold. Key infrastructure projects include the Donyi Polo Airport, the Sela Tunnel, and the Trans-Arunachal Highway. Khandu highlighted hydropower projects totaling 19,000 MW currently in progress. The state also hit 100 percent household tap water coverage.

Minister Dasanglu Pul praised the government's work on infrastructure and welfare. Khandu pointed to governance reforms like the creation of the Staff Selection Board and clean-up efforts at the Public Service Commission. He prioritized reaching remote areas through the Sarkar Aapke Dwar initiative. Looking ahead, the Chief Minister focused on environmental goals like the Pakke Declaration 2047, alongside continued investments in health, education, and sports to grow the state.
