Wokha Town Council Pushes to Finish Police Point Parking Project

Kohima: Wokha Town Council is rushing to finish a new parking area at Police Point. Work began on July 11 to fix traffic congestion at one of the town's busiest intersections. The council wants an organized parking system for residents.

Construction work has hit some snags. Unfavorable weather and heavy traffic flow through the junction slowed the building process. Council crews are now working into the late hours to stay on schedule. Officials hope to finish the job within this week if the weather holds up.

Chairperson Myingthungo Kikon admitted the project causes temporary pain for commuters. He asked for patience while the council finishes the current section before moving to the remaining area. Kikon said, "The ongoing work may cause temporary inconvenience, but we kindly request the public to cooperate with us. This development is being carried out for the benefit of everyone and is aimed at providing a proper parking area for the public."

Completion of this project should provide a lasting fix for vehicle movement. The council remains focused on getting the job done quickly.
