Phek Government College Marks National Sports Day With Youth Drive

Kohima: Phek Government College hosted a National Sports Day event on August 27. The NSS Unit and My Bharat Office organized the program to connect local youth with national initiatives. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the students via a virtual broadcast.

Theputso Kezo, an assistant coach at Thenyizu Wrestling Institute, spoke to the crowd. He touted the value of athletics and fair play. "Highlighted the importance of sports and sportsmanship," he noted during his session. Students and local officials took part in an open discussion following his talk.

The event kept a packed schedule. Humichilu Venuh and Adosa Nuwiry acted as comperes, while Huve-o Churah performed a special song. Dr. Zhokusheyi Rhakho, the NSS Program Officer, gave the final remarks.

Participants also engaged in several administrative tasks. They took the Nasha Mukt Yuva pledge against drug abuse. Attendees submitted suggestions for the Khelo India Yuva Samvaad. The team also held a My Bharat registration drive for all students present.
