Vishva Hindu Parishad Hosts Shillong Student Art Contest

Shillong: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) held an art and drawing contest for students on Sunday at Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School in Garikhana. The event marked the organization's foundation day and served as a lead-up to Janmashtami celebrations. Roughly 300 students showed up to compete. They represented schools from all over Shillong.

Organizers split the participants into age groups ranging from nursery through Class X. They also opened a category for students in Class XI and beyond. The competition aims to boost creativity. The group stated the event was meant for "encouraging creativity and artistic expression among students." Officials plan to post the final results on September 6.
