Art Contest and Passing Out Parade Set for Shillong

Shillong: The Zenith Jubilee Club hosts its annual Krishna Das Paul Choudhury Memorial Art Competition this Saturday. The event kicks off at 11 am at the Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School on Streamlet Road. Students are split into eight groups based on academic levels. Every group faces a specific challenge.

Group A nursery kids color a provided picture. Group B students from Class KG get to “draw as you like.” Classes I and II in Group C draw scenery. Classes III and IV in Group D tackle a fruit basket. Group E, consisting of Classes V and VI, draws animals dressed as humans. Classes VII and VIII in Group F focus on energy conservation. Classes IX and X in Group G produce a self-portrait in shading. Group H includes students from Class XI, XII, and above who participate in spot drawing.

Separately, the Civil Defence and Home Guards hold the Passing Out Parade for the 5th Basic Training Course, 2025 Batch. It starts at 10 am on September 1 at the Civil Defence and Home Guards Complex in Mawdiangdiang. Minister Bening A Sangma serves as the chief guest for the ceremony.
