Shillong: A Sunday evening dinner argument turned violent at 9 Mile Baridua in Ri-Bhoi. Poonam Bosper allegedly stabbed her husband four times with an axe after a dispute erupted over the meat he brought home to cook. The victim lost consciousness following the attack. The assailant left the weapon near the house and fled the scene.
Locals caught Bosper walking down a nearby road. They dragged her to the village community hall for questioning before turning her over to the Khanapara police station. She now faces legal consequences for the assault.
The community is rattled. 9 Mile Baridua headman Ioanis Narleng condemned the violent outburst. "The attack as shocking and said it had disturbed residents of the locality," Narleng stated. He pushed local authorities to apply the full weight of the law against the suspect.
