Assam Police Rescue Youth Tied and Beaten in Moral Policing Attack

Guwahati: Assam police rescued Amarendra Rai on Monday night after vigilantes tied his hands and feet before beating him. The attack took place in Charipuniya village in Bongaigaon district at roughly 8.30 pm. Local officers arrived at the scene following an urgent tip from the victim's relatives.

First responders rushed the injured man to Srijangram Model Hospital. Doctors later transferred him to a facility in Bongaigaon for advanced care because his injuries were too severe. The exact motive behind this act of violence remains unclear. Investigators have yet to determine why the villagers targeted him.

Rai's family members are demanding justice. They want the authorities to find the perpetrators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. "The victim's family has urged the police to identify and take strict legal action against those responsible for the alleged assault," officials noted. Detectives are now working to piece together the events and track down the suspects involved in the beating.
