Police detain suspects after violent attack in Dhubri

Guwahati: A brutal attack rocked Dhubri town on October 10. A mother and her son suffered injuries after a group armed with sharp weapons descended on their home in Ward No. 9. The violence erupted at 10 am following a long-running dispute.

Akif Sarkar filed a formal complaint. He stated that Ashiruz Zaman and his cohorts arrived at the property to cause trouble. The gang smashed a light on the boundary wall and started screaming abuse. The confrontation turned physical when Akif and his mother tried to stop them. Neighbors rushed to help the pair and transported them to get medical care. One attacker allegedly struck a victim with a bamboo stick and remains on the run. According to the complaint, "the attackers threatened the family before fleeing the scene."

Officers from the Dhubri Sadar Police Station arrived quickly to secure the area. They rounded up several people for questioning at the home of one suspect. Investigators are still working to track down the individual who fled. Authorities expect more developments as the investigation continues.
