Dhubri Police Seize Narcotics and Arrest Two Local Men

Guwahati: Dhubri police shut down a drug deal on September 21. The District Crime Unit and Dhubri Sadar Police Station launched a raid in the Bidyapara Dabri area that afternoon. They acted on specific intelligence leads to catch the suspects.

Officers intercepted two men and found 15 bottles of suspected Codeine Phosphate syrup. The team seized the contraband and two mobile handsets. Police took the items into custody using standard legal procedures.

Authorities identified the suspects as Iftikar Hoque Khandakar, 38, and Abdul Alim Sheikh, 38. Both men live in Ward No. 10 of Bidyapara Dabri. "Further legal proceedings under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act are underway," officials confirmed.

Investigators now face a new task. They must track where the syrup came from and identify its final destination. The two men remain in custody as the case moves forward.
