Guwahati: Dhubri Police arrested two men following a push to bust illegal touts and brokers across Assam. Officers moved in after gathering intelligence on local fraud rings. The operation marks part of a wider statewide effort to stop criminals who exploit the public under various pretexts.

Police nabbed Abu Bakkar Siddique, 26, from Jhagrarpar Pt-I. They also picked up 30-year-old Jaharuddin Sheikh from River Block No. 10. Both suspects are being held at the Dhubri Police Station. Officers are currently questioning the pair to uncover the scale of their operations. The investigation seeks to map out potential ties to larger syndicates. A police source stated, "The crackdown is aimed at dismantling networks of alleged touts and brokers who exploit members of the public under various pretexts." Authorities plan to take further legal action once they wrap up their probe into the network.
