Shillong: A violent domestic dispute left a Meghalaya man hospitalized on Sunday night. Sikander Lyngdoh suffered severe head injuries after his wife, 36-year-old Poonam Bosper, allegedly struck him with a machete inside their home. The couple lived in 9th Mile Baridua, located in the Ri-Bhoi district.
The local headman contacted Khanapara Police at 9.11 pm to report the disturbance. Officers reached the residence and found Lyngdoh unconscious and bleeding on the floor. His brother discovered the scene before help arrived and rushed the victim to Health City for treatment.
Police said the suspect fled the home immediately following the attack. She remains on the run. Authorities are currently searching for Bosper while investigators attempt to pin down a motive for the violence. A police report noted, "A search operation is underway to locate and apprehend her."
