Guwahati: Two migrant workers from Assam face accusations of murder following a deadly dispute in Telangana. Bitopan Das and Kusheswar Das allegedly killed their coworker, Ghanshyam Borah, on August 15. The three men worked as security guards at Experium Park in the Ranga Reddy district near Hyderabad.
Tensions flared over a debt. The men argued over money that night. During the fight, police say Bitopan attacked Borah with a sharp object. Borah suffered critical injuries and went to a local hospital before moving to Osmania Government Hospital in Hyderabad on August 16. He died there on August 24.
Borah hailed from Rajabari in the Biswanath district of Assam, while the accused men are residents of Duarpar village under the Panigaon police station in Lakhimpur. Family members of the victim are filing an FIR at the Gohpur police station. The suspects remain at large.
The Assam government assisted in the repatriation of the victim under the Sradhanjali scheme. Regarding the incident, the victim's family stated, "Ghanshyam had a dispute with Kusheswar over the repayment of a debt that night."
