Tripura equips Vidyajyoti schools with robotics and VR labs

Agartala: Tripura is rolling out robotics, drone technology, and virtual reality labs across every Vidyajyoti school in the state. This move falls under the Samagra Shiksha programme managed by the School Education Department. It aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 to modernize classroom instruction.

Schools are receiving specialized electronic devices and infrastructure to run these labs. Officials want to sharpen student problem-solving skills and creativity. A five-day training session for teachers kicked off July 20 at Shishu Bihar School. Educators are getting hands-on experience before the gear goes live for students.

Teachers are currently mastering sensor-based tech and battery-operated models. They are building traffic signal control systems. They are also learning how to control drones via mobile apps. The department stated the training aims to provide "hands-on training to teachers before the laboratories become operational in schools."

Students will eventually use VR headsets to study space, science, history, and human anatomy. Regular monitoring will ensure the equipment stays in use. The government hopes this tech-heavy approach will keep kids in class and prepare them for future careers.
