Agartala: The Tripura School Education Department is launching robotics, drone, and virtual reality labs across every Vidyajyoti school in the state. This move pushes the National Education Policy 2020 agenda forward. It aims to build problem-solving skills and creativity through hands-on work.
Teachers started a five-day training course at Shishu Bihar School on July 20. They are learning to manage the labs before students arrive. The curriculum covers building battery-operated models, coding sensor-based tech, and designing traffic signal systems. Educators are also mastering drone flight via mobile apps.
Students will eventually use VR headsets to walk through simulations of human anatomy, space, history, and science. The department is outfitting schools with the necessary electronic gear right now. Regular inspections will follow the rollout to track performance.
Officials hope these interactive lessons will keep kids in class. The department believes the labs will provide students with the necessary background for future career paths. As the School Education Department stated, the goal is to "promote experiential learning by exposing students to emerging technologies." By turning classrooms into workshops, the state wants to drop dropout rates and spark interest in science.
