Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha held a review meeting in Dhalai district to inspect the status of active development projects and state programs. He wants results. Saha pressured local officials to speed up the execution of key schemes and demanded better coordination between government departments to keep work on track.
The Chief Minister specifically targeted the grassroots level. He insisted that welfare benefits must reach those who depend on state assistance. He noted the goal is to see that the ongoing development initiatives “translate into tangible benefits for the people of Dhalai district.”
Administrative friction remains a problem. Saha called for tighter links between agencies to ensure public funds produce real progress. The meeting focused on accountability and pushing these initiatives forward.

Beyond the administrative review, Saha signaled a potential electoral pact between the BJP and the Tipra Motha Party for the upcoming village committee elections. With 587 seats up for grabs in early September, the CM noted that party leaders will clarify the alliance terms soon, admitting that policy friction between the partners is inevitable.
Meanwhile, pressure is building over the Tripartite Agreement regarding indigenous rights. TMP founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma recently softened his tone toward national leadership but doubled down on his demand for a constitutional guarantee on land rights. He pointed to existing safeguards in regions like Mizoram and Bodoland as the benchmark for protecting the Tiprasa people against future political uncertainty.
