TIPRA Motha Demands Probe Into Doctored Election Video

Agartala: TIPRA Motha workers hit the Tripura State Election Commission with a formal complaint. They claim a doctored video is poisoning the Village Council elections. The party says the footage blends a peaceful campaign march with audio from an unrelated protest. Someone edited the clip to make it sound like party members yelled slogans against specific communities. The manipulation aims to mislead voters and trigger communal tension.

Minister of State Brishaketu Debbarma filed the grievance alongside Youth Tipra Federation president Suraj Debbarma. The party insists its events remain free from such hate speech. Under founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, they push for "Thansa," which means unity among Tripura communities. The party provided the commission with original footage, the source of the stolen audio, and links to the offending social media posts.

Officials now want a full investigation into the people and political groups behind the smear. They demanded that the commission coordinate with cybercrime units to wipe the video from the web. Brishaketu Debbarma urged the state to act immediately. They want the SEC to issue a public warning against fake media to protect the integrity of the vote.
