Guwahati: Students swarmed Thana Charali in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Tuesday. They carried placards and shouted slogans to demand a transparent investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. The protesters want Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to quit his post. They claim recurring exam scandals have shattered faith in the national education system.
The demonstrators backed students currently gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. They argued that exam failures put the future of lakhs of aspirants at risk. One student said, "The assault on students at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi is a matter of shame for Indian democracy. We still have a chance to wake up; we have to change this government."
Participants called for strict action against anyone tied to the irregularities. Another protester claimed, "We are labelled as anti-nationals when we ask questions. We want the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan." Various district organizations joined the students at the peaceful demonstration to echo calls for reform. The Tinsukia protest reflects growing anger across the country over exam integrity and malpractice.
