Imphal: Nearly 3,000 students filled three examination centers in Ukhrul on Friday. They sat for the Hunphun Katamnao Long competitive exam. The event spanned Savio Higher Secondary School in Awungtang, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School in Wino Tang, and Central School in Phungreitang. Students arrived ready to test themselves against national standards.
MLA Ram Muivah toured all three locations to cheer on the test-takers. He spoke with students during his rounds. He noted the high turnout and the value of preparing for elite institutions like the IITs and IIMs. The test syllabus mirrors major all-India entrance exams to help local students gain an edge.
"I am extremely delighted to receive the examination call of the competitive exam being conducted by HKL, Hunphun Katamnao Long, Ukhrul Students’ Union," Muivah said. He wants to see more students from the district reach top-tier management and engineering schools. He pointed to success stories like Tonrei Sishak, who attended an IIT and later served as Chief Engineer for Power in Nagaland. Others have moved on to IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore.
Muivah believes this exam serves as a bridge to national success. He urged the district to prioritize this type of preparation to help locals land jobs at multinational corporations. The event concluded with students leaving the halls with a fresh outlook on their future. It was not just a test. It was a push toward the national stage.
