Manipur Deputy CM Pushes Local Goods and Self-Help Groups

Imphal: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen is pushing for a surge in support for locally made goods. She wants to see stronger self-help groups across the state. Kipgen spoke out after listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast alongside BJP Sadar Hills workers in Kangpokpi.

The Deputy Chief Minister believes grassroots participation will build sustainable livelihoods. She cited the Prime Minister’s Vocal for Local campaign as a primary driver for economic growth. Kipgen argued that these initiatives empower communities and provide vital aid to local entrepreneurs.

"The message on Vocal for Local and strengthening Self-Help Groups is a powerful call to support local products, empower communities, create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen grassroots participation," Kipgen said.

She demanded collective action to bolster community-based enterprises. The state needs more economic opportunities stemming from grassroots institutions. Kipgen reminded party workers that the principles of Seva, Sabka Saath, and Sabka Vikas must remain at the heart of their development goals. She challenged functionaries to stay focused on public service to achieve a Viksit Bharat and a Viksit Manipur.
