Imphal: Manipur Police hauled in two suspects during separate sweeps in Imphal. Officers made the arrests in distinct operations across the East and West districts.
Imphal East Commandos moved into Khurai Laishram Leikai on August 27. They searched the area under the Porompat police station and captured 22-year-old Kangabam Roshan Singh, also known as Korou. Investigators identified Singh as an active cadre of the KYKL. He lives in the same locality where police grabbed him.
A month later, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border police hit the North AOC area in Imphal West. On September 27, they took 49-year-old Omprakash Anand Survana into custody. Survana hails from Thane, Maharashtra. Officers found him holding about 3.5 kg of ganja. Officials stated, "Further investigation into both cases is underway."

The dragnet widened as security forces tracked Omprakash Anand Survana to a connection in Heigrujam Mamang Leikai. Police intercepted 25-year-old Ngangom Rajesh Singh at a joint checkpoint, pinning him to the same drug trafficking network. Meanwhile, in a separate raid at Sora Bazar, Kakching District Police collared 36-year-old Singa Sabanam with 3.2 kg of WY tablets.
Authorities also moved against a separate illicit trade. Bishnupur Police intercepted shipments of urea, seizing 1,300 bags in two separate busts on September 23 and 25. Officials brought in the District Agriculture Officer to verify the haul and dig into the smuggling operation.
