Agartala: Applicants in Sabroom Nagar Panchayat say their requests for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) are being canned without a word. They claim the local office found flaws in the paperwork but never bothered to reach out. The doors slammed shut on them without a single warning.
These residents expected a chance to fix mistakes. Instead, the Nagar Panchayat rejected their forms outright. Now, the applicants want answers. They are demanding a full review of every rejected file and a written explanation for why they were turned away. The group wants the local authorities to identify exactly what went wrong during the screening process.
Questions linger about the conduct of the staff and the silence of the elected Panchayat members. Locals are pushing for an inquiry to see if eligible families were tossed aside due to basic administrative bungling. "The applicants said they expected the authorities to provide a clear explanation as to why their applications were rejected without notification and why they were allegedly not given an opportunity to correct deficiencies before rejection."
The Sabroom Nagar Panchayat has yet to issue a statement on the claims. Nobody from the government side is talking yet. The applicants remain in the dark, waiting for a fix.
