Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha opened the Rangalal Das Memorial Indoor Sports Hall in Kailashahar on October 17. The facility sits inside the Unakoti District Sports Complex. Saha also revealed a statue of Swami Vivekananda near the local Youth Affairs and Sports Office. The state aims to expand sports infrastructure to help young people find direction.

Saha wants kids off the streets. He noted that athletics build discipline, teamwork, and confidence while keeping youth away from substance abuse. The government is backing these projects through the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, the Tribal Welfare Department, and local administrations. They are building synthetic turf grounds, tracks, and swimming pools across the state.

Naming buildings after local legends connects youth to their history. Other tributes include the synthetic track at Dashrath Dev State Sports Complex named for Dev Bhakti Jamatia and the Badharghat hockey ground named for Swadeshpriya Nandi. The list continues with the Pratul Bhattacharya football ground, the Dr Arunabha Roy athletics track in Panisagar, and the Madhusudan Saha youth hostel in Ambassa.

During the event, Saha urged residents to live by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He said, "The government was developing sports facilities across Tripura to promote sporting talent and support the overall development of the younger generation." Key figures in attendance included Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Sabhadhipati Amalendu Das, and District Magistrate Megha Jain.
