Kohima: An armed intimidation case involving a Nagaland police officer ended in a private settlement. Khruvota, a field executive for the courier company Delhivery, withdrew his FIR against Officer-in-Charge Blesto Zhimo on August 2. The legal action followed an altercation at Naga United village in Chümoukedima on July 31.
The dispute started when Zhimo refused to pay for a parcel, claiming the contents did not match his order. Zhimo then pulled a pistol on the worker. The officer's driver intervened to stop the confrontation. Khruvota initially filed a report at Diphupar Police Station under section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and section 25(1A) of the Arms Act.
The pair reconciled two days later. Zhimo signed a declaration offering a sincere apology for his actions. He wrote, "I declare that, I shall not harbour any grudges but live in true brotherhood spirit." Khruvota accepted the apology in good Christian faith. The Western Chakhesang Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho signed the document as witnesses.
It is unclear if the police department will pursue disciplinary action. Nagaland Police Headquarters has not commented on the matter.
