Kohima: Diphupar Police arrested a Nagaland Police officer for armed intimidation. The arrest followed a July 31 complaint from Khrovota, a Field Executive for Delhivery. The incident occurred Friday around 1:10 p.m. at Naga United village, Chümoukedima.
Khrovota delivered a cash-on-delivery parcel worth Rs 600. The accused, identified as Blesto Zhimo, opened the package before paying. He refused to hand over the cash, claiming the contents did not match his order. Zhimo serves as the Officer-in-Charge of a police station in Zunheboto district.
Khrovota cited company policy requiring payment before opening packages and insisted that returns must follow official channels. The officer turned hostile. He pulled a pistol on the courier worker. The driver for the accused intervened to stop the confrontation.
Khrovota reported the threat to his manager and filed a formal police complaint. Despite reports of pressure to settle the case out of court, he refuses to back down. "I will not withdraw it. I am the victim," Khrovota said.
The Western Chakhesang Youth Front condemned the harassment. President Wekupe Therie stated the law must take its course. Police booked Zhimo under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 25 (1A) of the Arms Act.
