Kohima: Diphupar police arrested a Nagaland Police officer for allegedly pulling a gun on a courier worker. The incident took place at 1:10 pm last Friday in Naga United village, Chümoukedima. The victim, a Delhivery field executive named Khrovota, attempted to collect Rs 600 for a cash-on-delivery parcel. The suspect, identified as Blesto Zhimo, opened the package before paying and then refused to settle the bill. He claimed the items inside were incorrect.
Khrovota explained company policy required payment before opening the parcel, but Zhimo grew aggressive. The officer, reportedly the station head in Zunheboto district, pulled a pistol on the delivery agent. The driver for the officer intervened to stop the escalation. Khrovota reported the threat to his manager and filed a formal complaint at the Diphupar Police Station on July 31.
Authorities booked Zhimo under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 25 (1A) of the Arms Act. Despite alleged pressure to settle the matter privately, the victim refuses to back down. "I will not withdraw it. I am the victim," Khrovota said on August 1. The Western Chakhesang Youth Front condemned the officer, and President Wekupe Therie demanded the law take its course.
