Kohima: Kudecho Khamo told aspiring business owners to quit waiting for handouts. The Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division spoke at the Community Business Meet 2026 on October 31. The event took place at the Western Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Centre in Kozabe, Chümoukedima. It operated under the theme Economic Self-Reliance and Entrepreneurship. Organizers intended the meeting to foster collaboration between seasoned professionals and new talent.

Khamo demanded a shift in mindset. He told the crowd that individuals must take personal ownership of their financial futures. Success requires more than just chasing profit. He argued that honesty and customer respect form the backbone of lasting growth. He stated, "Entrepreneurship should not be driven solely by profit but guided by ethical practices and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction."

The Chakhesang community already shows strength in vegetable vending and thrift businesses around Kohima. Khamo urged these entrepreneurs to refine their skills and expand their reach. He pushed for better market research and financial literacy to combat poverty. He warned that the community faces real danger if they rely on leaders rather than their own grit. The world remains hostile and competitive. He insisted the community must marry traditional values and faith with modern economic reform.

The program featured a plenary session to map out future goals. Elizabeth Dozo Semp and Elijah Pfuno moderated the discussion. Panelists included Vepozo Dozo, Azolo Nuh, Akho Kezo, and Werite Kevichusa. They debated how to turn local resources into viable ventures while solving current trade challenges.
