Nagaland Governor Opens New Medical and Academic Hub at International University

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav opened the Academic Staff College and new health science departments at the International University in Chümoukedima on Saturday. The expansion includes units for Naturopathy, Physiotherapy, and Medical Laboratory Science at the 6th Mile campus. These facilities aim to bolster human capital and serve local communities as diagnostic hubs.

Yadav praised the institution for its two decades of growth since 2006. He stressed that a university only thrives when it invests in its teachers. The new college will foster lifelong learning and pedagogical research. He told the attendees, "No university can rise above the quality of its faculty." The Governor also released official university publications during the event.

Students received a clear directive to prioritize local entrepreneurship over traditional employment. Yadav challenged the youth to become "job-givers rather than job-seekers" while facing an economy defined by artificial intelligence and automation. He encouraged them to tackle regional challenges through innovation and leadership.

Advisor T N Mannen noted the facilities provide teachers with vital professional development to stay current with changing academic needs. Additional remarks came from Registrar Dr. Roopam Bachhil, Prof. Zavise Rume, Dr. Utkarsh Sharma, and Prof. Dr. Satya Lakshmi. Joint Registrar Dr. Durga Malakar closed the program with a vote of thanks.
