Kohima: Students and teachers from Trinity High School, Kohima, headed to Chümoukedima on October 17. They toured the Peace Centre to study youth empowerment and peacebuilding initiatives run by the Peace Channel NGO. The site also houses the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research, which serves as the first social work school in Nagaland.
Kevin, the school proprietor, thanked the staff for their hospitality. He noted that Trinity High School maintains a long history with the organization, as every member of the school community joins the Peace Club. Staff shared the success story of a former student who used her Peace Club experience to study social work at NEISSR before becoming faculty there.
Fr C P Anto, who founded Peace Channel and leads NEISSR, spoke to the visitors. He pushed students to adopt the "3 Ds" of discipline, dedication, and diligence to reach their goals. Anto also lectured on Bloom's Taxonomy, promoting creative, student-centered lessons to build critical thinking skills.
The group explored the Peace Garden, the Peace Library, and the Peace Museum. Inside the museum, they reviewed the history of Peace Award recipients from 2009 through 2025. Peace Channel leaders confirmed their intent to continue working with the school, urging pupils to act as "Channels of Peace" within their own communities.
