Mount Mary College Partners with JALTAP to Boost Japanese Language Skills

Kohima: Mount Mary College in Chümoukedima inked a deal with the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Pune, known as JALTAP, to push Japanese language education and career training. The partnership kicked off August 19. It aims to sharpen student skills through workshops, proficiency exam prep, and cultural exchange programs.

Students now have a direct line to job markets in Japan and other Japanese firms. They can target roles in human resources, administration, teaching, and translation. Other sectors include hospitality, tourism, customer service, and business support. Jobs remain subject to specific qualifications and standard employment requirements.

College officials held an interactive session at the campus auditorium on August 19 to explain the new program. "The MoU marks an important step in Mount Mary College’s efforts towards skill development, employability, international exposure and holistic student development," according to the college announcement. The school expects these classes to unlock global career pathways for their students.
