Police Arrest RPF/PLA Operative Linked to Imphal Grenade Attacks

Imphal: Manipur Police hauled in an active member of the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army on August 5. The suspect, 26-year-old Thokchom Sanju Meitei, also known as Luwang, faces accusations of planting multiple grenades around Imphal. He lives in Langmeidong Mamang Leikai in Kakching district.

Security teams grabbed Meitei on August 4. The arrest went down in the Thangmeiband Khuyathong Polem Leikai area of Imphal West district. Officers snatched two hand grenades from his person during the sweep. Police confirmed his role in the attacks. "Further investigation is underway to ascertain his role in the incidents and identify possible links to other operatives," officials stated.
