Imphal: Manipur Police arrested three active members of the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Front and its armed wing, the People’s Liberation Army. The crackdown followed a series of grenade attacks across the Imphal area. Officers caught the first suspect on August 4 during a targeted raid in the Thangmeiband Khuyathong Polem Leikai area of Imphal West.

Police identified the man as 26-year-old Thokchom Sanju Meitei, also known as Luwang, who lives in Kakching district’s Langmeidong Mamang Leikai. They recovered two hand grenades from his possession. Officials stated that he was allegedly involved in planting explosives at various locations throughout the city.

Security forces expanded their net quickly. They apprehended 41-year-old Ngangbam Nanao Singh at his home in Bishnupur district’s Wangoo Ahallup Sanasam Leikai. A third suspect, 24-year-old Wahengbam Mayday Singh alias Loya, was picked up from his residence in Awangkhunou Lamkhai under the Patsoi Police Station.

Police confirmed that "all the arrested individuals and the recovered materials have been handed over to the respective local police stations for further legal proceedings." Investigators are now working to identify other potential links to these operatives.
