Imphal: Special commandos apprehended a suspected PREPAK member at his home in Imphal West district on September 12. The team from the Special CDO Unit in Khabeisoi took the man into custody following allegations of arms trafficking. He was hiding in plain sight.
Police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Pukhrambam John Singh, also known as Tomba Singh. He is the son of the late P. Binoy Singh and lives in Awang Wabagai Maning Leikai. Officers arrested him within the jurisdiction of the Sekmai Police Station.
Authorities claim Singh served as an active member of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak. Officials state he was "involved in the transportation and custody of arms and ammunition." Investigators are currently digging for deeper connections. They want to find his accomplices.

In a separate incident on September 12, gunmen targeted CRPF personnel stationed at Khonghampat Awang Leikai. Assailants fired several rounds at the troops during the evening. Police tracked down one suspect, 56-year-old Sheleibam Yaima, on Friday.
Authorities impounded the vehicle allegedly used in the attack. A court granted police an eight-day remand for Yaima as the investigation continues into his alleged accomplices.
