Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh gathered top security brass on September 17. He chaired a security coordination meeting at the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal. The session addressed current law and order issues. The group identified new vulnerable zones requiring tighter oversight. They discussed moving more personnel into these spots to ensure public safety.
Construction work starts now. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and its contractors plan to push hard over the next six months. Singh made the government's stance clear. "The government would extend all necessary security support to ensure that infrastructure projects progress without disruption," Singh said. State agencies must now keep these sites clear of interference.
Key officials at the meeting included Manipur Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, Chief Secretary Rajeev Singh Thakur, and DGP Mukesh Singh. Other high-ranking attendees included Commissioner of Home N Ashok Kumar and several military commanders. Major General Gaurav Sharma of Assam Rifles (South) sat alongside Major General Inderjit Singh Bhinder of Assam Rifles (East) and CRPF Inspector General Homkar Amol Vinukant. These leaders aim to ramp up output during the prime working months.
