Guwahati: Security forces tightened the net on militants in Manipur. On September 7, a team from CDO-Imphal West moved into the Keibung Oinam Leikai area. They relied on solid intelligence from the 31 Assam Rifles to pin down their target.

Officers raided a home under the Singjamei Police Station jurisdiction. They arrested Lourembam Suresh, also known as Toto or Mairongba. Suresh, 54, is the son of L. Tomba Singh and faces allegations as an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG).

The state remains on edge. Security agencies have ramped up search operations to stop a recent spike in insurgent activity. Authorities are now probing the suspect to determine the extent of his involvement with the outlawed group. Officials stated that further investigation is "expected to establish the nature of Suresh's alleged activities and possible links with the banned outfit."
