UNLF Denies Ties to Arrested Heirok Man

Imphal: The United National Liberation Front officially disowned Khundongbam Motilal. Security forces arrested the 26-year-old on August 11. A combined unit of Thoubal Police and the 46 Assam Rifles grabbed him in Lamding Khumanthem Leikai. Motilal is the son of Kh. Ingo and hails from Heirok Part-III Lam Mari Phangba Maning.

UNLF Secretary of Publicity M. Shak-Hen issued a statement clarifying the group's stance. The organization rejected claims linking Motilal to their ranks. "Motilal is not associated with either the UNLF or its armed wing, the Manipur People’s Army," the group said. The outfit currently operates under the leadership of Koireng.
