Kohima: Young Indians and Patkai Christian College hosted a one-day workshop on August 21. The event marked World Entrepreneurs Day 2026. Students gathered at the College Conference Hall to discuss innovation, leadership, and sustainable business models. They focused on turning raw ideas into working companies.
Zakir Alam, the program coordinator, opened the floor. He noted that the day celebrates more than just profit. He said, "World Entrepreneurs Day was not merely a celebration of successful businesses but also of ideas, courage, creativity, resilience and the willingness to take the first step into the unknown."
Technical moderator Dr. Dakter Esse Jamir pushed students to seek practical skills. Three local entrepreneurs shared their failures and wins. Atoho A Kinimi of JoldiPabo Pvt Ltd explained how his housing rental platform solved his own struggle to find a home. He told students that success requires purpose and hard work regardless of the career path.
Music entrepreneur Imli Lee spoke about the creative industry. He urged students to start before they feel fully ready. Lee emphasized that experience comes from action. Peihauding, who leads Ngurie Organic Pvt Ltd and Kendeu Coaching Centre, focused on the grit needed to build a business from a village background. He advised students to seek mentorship, use government support schemes, and document every idea. The day ended with students asking for advice on funding and event management.
