Thenyizumi Students Union Holds 31st Annual Session in Kohima

Kohima: The Thenyizumi Students Union Kohima (TSUK) gathered August 23 at the Baptist High Auditorium for its 31st General Session and Freshers Social. Commandment Kenesa Dawhuo of the 10th NAP (IR) Battalion Zhadima served as the guest speaker. He pushed students to prioritize academics above all else. He urged them to cultivate positive attitudes and long-term discipline instead of seeking immediate gratification.

Dawhuo warned about the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. He told the crowd, "it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish between original and AI-generated content." He cautioned that relying too much on tech kills independent thought. He also noted that social media distractions often trigger confusion and anxiety in young minds.

Thenyizumi Village Council chairman Zhothiyi Dawhuo asked citizens to pursue excellence with humility. TSUK president Er. Vede Dawhuo celebrated the year's academic achievers. Speaker Kepozo Kapuh advised students to remain flexible. He told them to embrace failure as a way to learn and improve. Education and statistical reports came from Akhone Nienu, while Vetshelu Thisa spoke for the freshers.

The event closed by installing the 2026-27 executive team. Sevosalu Resu takes over as president. Vedecuyi Rokha serves as vice president. Vevosu Thisa acts as general secretary. Kevedu Rhakho will work as assistant general secretary. Nomination committee convenor Medozo Dawhuo declared the new slate. Vevoto Kapuh led the program. Khriesazo Rhakho, associate pastor of Chakhesang CRC, offered the opening prayer. Performers included the Thenyizumi Women Society and Keluvelu Thisa. Ajopuh Swuro gave the vote of thanks, and Nuhuta Dawhuo delivered the final benediction.
